Importance Of Marriage Line On Hand In Palmistry

Importance Of Marriage Line On Hand In Palmistry

Know What Your Marriage Line Says About Your Married Life

The line of marriage is known by names like Marriage Line, Line of Love, Line of Union, Relationship Line, Attraction Line, Divorce Line, Sex Line, etc. The line of marriage is used to predict the subject's marriage and marital life.

In ancient beliefs, the marriage line was considered an indication of assured marital relationships. The 'Samudra Rishi' determined the number of a person's marriages based on these lines. It was believed that as many marriage lines there are, that many spouses there would be. Confirmation of Samudra Rishi's statements is found in ancient texts such as 'Vivek Vilas', 'Shaiva Samudrika', 'Prayog Parijat', 'Hast Sanjeevan', 'Karalakhan', and others.

In 'Prayog Parijat', while elucidating the characteristics of the marriage line, it is said that in the middle part of the little finger and the heart line of the male native's hand, the number of lines present should be considered as the number of wives, and similarly for the female native's hand, the number of lines present should be considered as the number of husbands.

If these lines are odd, then the marriage occurs with a woman of inferior caste, and if they are even, then the marriage occurs with a woman of equal caste and character. If the line is thin, then the marriage occurs with a fortunate woman, and if it is broken, then the marriage occurs with an unfortunate woman. Ancient thinkers were not unanimous about the position of the marriage line.

Some thinkers accepted the lines of the Venus region, while others accepted the lines of the Moon region as the marriage line, but most scholars have given credence to the lines situated in the Mercury region above the heart line as the marriage line.

The above beliefs are very ancient. There has been a significant difference between the social situation at that time and the present social situation. The nature of the marriage-related beliefs that were prevalent in ancient times has completely changed today.

In ancient times, marriage was considered one of the sixteen sacraments of human life, and there was no social acceptance or tradition of attraction or love towards life partners before marriage.

Marriages used to take place with the consent of the parents, and the beginning of love relationships as husband and wife occurred only after marriage. The tradition of Gandharva marriages or love marriages was an exception. Clearly, in ancient times, love relationships began only after marriage.

But now the times have changed, and the form of marriage has also changed its course. Today, there is love first, then marriage. Sometimes love ends in between, and sometimes lifelong love continues, but marriage never happens.

Consequently, in the past, marriage was necessary for love, and now love is necessary for marriage, meaning that the name of social or legal acceptance of love relationships has become marriage today, but there was no place for love relationships in ancient social systems.

It is natural that with this unprecedented change in ancient beliefs related to marriage, there has been a need for periodic changes in the established criteria for the study, analysis, and interpretation of marriage lines, showing a significant difference between ancient and modern beliefs, but the fundamental principle of both is the same.

The Principle of the Presence of Marriage Lines

In practice, it is observed that despite the presence of many marriage lines in some people's hands, their marriage does not happen. Conversely, even in the absence of a marriage line, marriage happens. In both these situations, the general principles of palmistry related to marriage fail.

The attempt to explain the reasons and discrepancies of these two situations began from ancient times. Even in the hands of lifelong celibates, ascetics, yogis, and female ascetics who observe celibacy vows, sometimes marriage lines are seen, where there is neither a love relationship nor a marriage relationship, yet the presence of a marriage line is a discrepancy.

The marriage line in the hands of such people is accepted by their devotees and spiritual disciples. Conversely, for those whose hands lack a marriage line, but possess influence lines emanating from the Venus or Moon region, which intersect with the fate line or sun line, their marriages happen successfully.

Meaning Of Marriage Line On Palm In Palmistry

The Marriage Line, also known as the Relationship Line or Lines of Affection, is traditionally believed to represent the relationships and marriages that a person will have in their life. In palmistry, these lines are not limited to marriages but may also interpret significant relationships that have a profound impact on the individual.

Here’s what is typically said about the Marriage Lines:

Location of Marriage Line: Marriage Lines are located on the edge of the palm,  under the little finger, running horizontally.

Number of Marriage Lines:

  • Multiple lines are often thought to suggest multiple relationships of significance.
  • The clarity of the lines can also be important, with clearer lines indicating stronger relationships.

Length of Marriage Line:

  • A longer Marriage Line is often interpreted to mean a long-term partnership.
  • Shorter lines might suggest shorter relationships or less impact on the individual’s life.

Depth of Marriage Line:

  • A deep and well-marked line usually indicates a strong and lasting relationship.
  • A faint line may suggest a relationship that is not very strong or significant in the person’s life.

Curving Marriage Line:

  • If the Marriage Line curves upwards towards the base of the little finger, it is often seen as a sign that the individual could outlive their partner.
  • A line that curves downward towards the Heart Line is sometimes interpreted as a sign of a partner’s ill health or a relationship ending in an unexpected way.

Islands on Marriage Line:

  • An island on the Marriage Line can indicate a period of turmoil or difficulty within the relationship.
  • It might also represent a troubled time leading to a separation.

Forks on Marriage Line:

  • A fork at the beginning or end of the Marriage Line might indicate a long engagement before marriage or a significant period of indecision in the relationship.
  • A fork at the end of the line can also suggest a split or divorce.

Crosses and Breaks on Marriage Line:

  • Crosses on the Marriage Line might signify that external factors will affect the relationship.
  • Breaks in the line could suggest separations, with a new line beginning after the break indicating a new relationship.

Overlapping Marriage Lines:

If two Marriage Lines overlap or are very close to one another, it might indicate a time where relationships are complex or overlapping.

Other Lines Crossing Marriage Line In Palmistry

In palmistry, lines crossing the Marriage Line can have various interpretations, often relating to the influences or events in one’s romantic life. Here are some common interpretations for lines that cross the Marriage Line:

Influence Lines: These small lines may come from the Mount of Venus (area around the thumb) and cross the Marriage Line. They are typically interpreted as external influences on the marriage or relationship. This could mean interference from a third party, family issues, or external stressors affecting the relationship.

Crosses on the Marriage Line: A cross directly on the Marriage Line is often seen as a sign of stress or trouble in the relationship. This could indicate a significant argument, a challenging period in the relationship, or in some interpretations, it may even suggest infidelity.

Vertical Lines: Vertical lines crossing the Marriage Line can suggest obstacles that the individual may face in their marriage or romantic relationships. The nature of these obstacles can vary and might relate to emotional issues, communication problems, or external factors.

Breaks in the Marriage Line: If another line intersects and causes a break in the Marriage Line, it might suggest a separation or a significant disruption in the relationship. The length and depth of the break can sometimes indicate the duration and seriousness of the issue.

Overlapping Lines: If the crossing line overlaps with the Marriage Line and continues, it may indicate a period of separation followed by a reunion.

Island Formation: While not exactly a crossing line, an island (a split that rejoins) on the Marriage Line is interpreted as a period of difficulty or distress in the relationship. This could be due to misunderstandings, communication issues, or external pressures.

Horizontal Lines: Short horizontal lines crossing the Marriage Line may suggest moments of emotional stress or periods of argument within the relationship.

Chains or Grilles: A chained appearance or a grille crossing the Marriage Line may indicate a tumultuous and unstable relationship. It can suggest a relationship fraught with ups and downs.

Types Of Marriage Line On Hand In Palmistry

In palmistry, the Marriage Line, also referred to as the Relationship Line or Lines of Affection, is said to reveal various aspects of an individual’s romantic life. These lines are found on the edge of the palm, just under the pinky finger. Here are different types of Marriage Lines and their traditional interpretations:

Long and Straight Marriage Line: Indicates a long-lasting and happy marriage or relationship. The longer the line, the better the relationship is considered to be in terms of love and affection.

Short Marriage Line: Often interpreted to mean that the individual may not place a great importance on romantic relationships or that the relationships they have might not be as impactful in their life.

Deep and Clear Marriage Line: Suggests a strong and intense relationship, often equated with a strong influence of the partner on the individual’s life.

Faint Marriage Line: Might suggest a lack of strength in romantic relationships, possibly indicating an uneventful or less significant relationship.

Multiple Marriage Lines: Can indicate multiple significant relationships throughout life. The clarity and depth of each line may give further insight into each specific relationship’s impact.

Forked Marriage Line:

  • A fork at the beginning of the Marriage Line can indicate a long engagement.
  • A fork at the end of the line can signify a divergence or a change in the relationship, sometimes associated with separation or divorce.

Chained Marriage Line: May suggest ups and downs in the emotional aspect of the relationship, with various stresses and strains.

Island on Marriage Line: Represents a period of tension or a complicated phase within a relationship.

Crosses on Marriage Line: These are often read as signs of trouble or turbulence in a marriage or relationship.

Marriage Line with Breaks: Suggests a separation, with a possibility of reunion if the line resumes after the break.

Marriage Line that Curves Downwards: If the line curves down toward the Heart Line, it’s sometimes interpreted as a sign of a partner’s poor health or a relationship ending in a way that the person did not expect.

Marriage Line that Ends in a Star: This is a rare mark and may be interpreted as a sign of a significant event in the marriage or relationship, which could be either positive or negative depending on other lines present.
